~ Introduction

Welcome! This is a fanclub dedicated to Asch and Luke from Tales of the Abyss! Why? Because they are pretty, cool, awesome, funny, and pretty, with great personalities that you can't help but love, and they're pretty! Its a place to gather all their fans and the gorgeous art there is of them that I know is out there!

You don't have to be a hardcore fan to join - we're open to everyone from the people who think they're kinda cool (even though you like someone else better) to the rabid fangirls like myself. Just make sure to check out the rules below.

Spoiler warning. When dealing with Luke and Asch there are inherent spoilers and I'm not planning to label them all as such. So be forewarned.

Sorry about the lateness... I'm in the middle of moving so things are a little... well no a lot messy around here but I digress. Contest winners!

On the note of future contests I don't have one that I'll be setting up right now but it should be up by late next week once I've gotten settled in and I can actually find my stuff. Keep an eye out for it! I've been thoroughly impressed by the number and creativity of all the contest entries lately so keep up the good work!!

August 25th

...tie?!?! what is this?? lol - I can't say I have anything prepared for this case scenario. I tallied up the votes thus far and there is a tie for first place. ...I have no idea how to fairly break the tie (especially since a way wasn't decided prior to voting)... so since the day isn't technically over and not everyone has submitted their vote, I'm going to leave voting open for an extra couple days until the 27th to see if enough more votes trickle in to break the tie. I wont' say between which entries the tie was so if you haven't voted yet... please send in your vote!! In the meantime I'll see if I can't figure out a fair way to decide should this not decide a clear winner.

I will be sending out notes regarding voting over the next week (dA will only let me send so many at once before it declares me a spammer and puts a stop to it ). The deadline for voting is going to be August 25th so please get your votes in before then! First place winner gets a custom Luke or Asch plushie in the outfit of their choice and second place gets a request or dA subscription (their choice).

Hey everyone! Thank you so much to everyone who's submitted entries to the cosplay contest so far! It's looking like we're going to have another awesome competition on our hands! For those of you who haven't submitted anything yet, there's still time but not much of it! Check out the rules and theme: [link]

That being said I just want to remind everyone that the deadline is tomorrow (Aug 14th). Don't worry about when is midnight in whose time zone, as long as its been submitted and theres a note in the club inbox before I check on Saturday, its good.

Also if anyone has any ideas for contests they'd like to see or has any prizes they'd like to offer - always feel free to throw in suggestions. I love coming up with ideas but it makes it feel pretty one sided at times ~ I'd love to hear your input so don't be shy about throwing in your two cents worth!

I really really apologize for the lack of updates recently. I was away on holidays and life in general has been pretty busy. I'll try my best to be better at checking club mail more often, I swear~

Thank you so much to everyone that's been submitting or working on artwork! I'm excited to see another couple contest entries so be sure to check those out. I will most likely be extending the contest deadline a bit since I've already had a request or two to do so. I haven't decided on what the new deadline will be so I'll leave it at the 31st for now and I'll let you know relatively soon.

Oh and another little contest stipulation I'd like to add if I may. dA only allows one deviation to have any given title so if future contest entries could be named something other than just "Cosplay" I'd be grateful~ Thanks

I'd also like to take this chance to remind everyone not to fav club stuff! Please fav the original work by the original artist - everyone was good for awhile there but its starting to become a problem again. Thanks guys!

In other news: As I'm sure you've seen I've set up the new contest~ the theme this time is Cosplay contest! It's not exactly what it sounds like (and doesn't have anything to do with real life cosplaying)~ so check it out! You can find the rules and details here: [link] Though not as epic as an anthology, the prize this time will be a Luke or Asch plushie (your choice) in the outfit of your choice. It's custom made for the winner so i hope everyone will give it their all!

Just ignore that journal page, nothing else in the club will be changing in regard to the rules on pairing art in the gallery and in contests.

Club Rules:
1. This is a club for fans of Luke and/or Asch. Please be respectful and don't be bashing either of them.
2. No bashing/insulting of any fellow members either. Be respectful - be nice - you don't have to agree - but be polite about it.
3. No original characters please
4. No AschXLuke or LukeXAsch (or any combination/derivative thereof) is allowed in the gallery. There is already a club for them as a romantic pairing here on DA. This club is open to any fans of Luke and Asch, and you are more than welcome to join and submit your art ~ but we'd like to keep our gallery free of them as a pairing for the fans who don't like them as a couple. Innocent stuff is okay, but keep it innocent. Hugging is fine, kissing is not. (I also prefer if the picture is not labeled/titled as LukeAsch - if it's innocent and you still want to submit it, thats fine and I'm more than happy to put it up - but I may change the title.)

6. DO NOT FAV CLUB DEVIATIONS!! This one is important.. please direct all comments and favs back to the original artist. Do not make me sic a very angry Asch on you.

Joining:
1. You have to like Luke or Asch (or both!) They don't have to be your favorite - but there has to be a bit of love for them in there somewhere ^.~
2. Send a note to the club titled "Join".
3. If you just watch the club you will not be added until you've sent a note. This is just to avoid confusion on my part.
4.Messages left on the club page will not be checked regularly...please just send a note ^^
5. While you don't have to - after you join, if you watch the club - you'll be up to date on all the contests and other events we may be holding.

Submissions:
1. Send a note to the club titled "submission" or "fanart" or something simlilarly identifiable and we'll add it to the club.
2. It can be any media, fics, poems...whatever as long as it has Luke and/or Asch.
3. It can have any other characters in it (no original characters please) as long as Luke or Asch is more or less the central focus.
4. All comments and favs will be directed back to the original.
